Offshore Middle East announces Student Paper Program
The inaugural Offshore Middle East Conference & Exhibition Student Paper Program will take place at 2013 event in Doha, Qatar on January 21-23, 2013. The purpose of the competition is to showcase regional engineering talent and student development in regional universities. The program also serves to bring together university students with technical experts in their fields of study and allow regional oil and gas companies to identify future talent.
The Offshore Middle East 2013 Student Program solicits submissions for technical papers in topical areas that include but are not limited to field development, drilling & completion, facilities engineering, flow assurance, pipeline construction & installation, platform construction & installation, subsea technology, reservoir management, production optimization, asset integrity, and well control.

About Offshore Middle East 2013
Responding to the growth and vitality of the offshore industry in the Middle East and following the hugely successful Offshore Middle East Conference & Exhibition in Doha, Qatar 2010 – we are pleased to announce that Offshore Middle East Conference & Exhibition returns to Qatar at the Qatar National Convention Centre, Doha on 21-23 January 2013.
With the Middle East offshore industry rapidly growing, Offshore Middle East Conference & Exhibition plays an important role in the expanding market and provides an annual forum dedicated to the advancement of the offshore industry, whilst addressing technological challenges associated with safely and cost effectively developing subsea resources.
Offshore Middle East 2013 to include Gas Industry Operations track
Offshore Middle East Conference has announced the inclusion of a Gas Industry Operations track to its technical program for the upcoming 2013 event.
The 4th annual Offshore Middle East will include sessions relevant to all aspects of natural gas and gas liquids as part of this technical track, parallel with the upstream and exploration emphasis, seen at previous Offshore Middle East events.

Offshore Middle East 2010 attracts international interest
Offshore Middle East returned to Doha, Qatar in 2010 and was held at the DEC Doha Exhibition Center, from 12-14 October. The 3rd Offshore Middle East Conference & Exhibition attracted over 1700 delegates from more than 38 countries, and included a comprehensive conference programme, exhibition and a technical plant tour.

Middle East Offshore spend expected to grow
- $110 billion of activity expected within the LNG sector during 2010-2014, with FLNG spend commencing
- 3,300 wells are forecast in MEN A by 2014, with offshore drilling seeing a growth of 25% over the next 5 years
- Total drilling expenditure is expected to grow 56% over the next 5 years and will exceed $16.6 billion by 2014
- Offshore spend is predicted to equal onshore investment by 2014
